Meet John Melluish, one of Sydney's most reliable go-to experts when it comes to insolvency. With 40 years under his belt, John has a wealth of experience helping individuals and companies navigate challenging financial situations.

He has managed large teams of staff in revitalising retail, finance, property, and manufacturing businesses, and has handled numerous formal insolvency cases for smaller companies as well.

Now, working independently and in association with PCI Partners, John is often called upon by other liquidators, solicitors, and litigation funders to share his expert insights and provide valuable expert witness reports for legal proceedings related to insolvency.

John is able to draw upon his vast experience in acting as both a Liquidator and Trustee in Bankruptcy to provide expert reports in a variety of insolvency related proceedings including:

• Assessment of solvency as it relates to insolvent trading, preference proceedings, or any other type of action. Acting for both the plaintiff and defendant at different times.
• Acting for creditors or committees of inspection to assess the reasonableness of remuneration charged by an Insolvency Practitioner.
• Considering whether the conduct of an Insolvency Practitioner was reasonable in exercising a casting vote at a Section 439A meeting.
• Considering the reasonableness of a decision taken by an Insolvency Practitioner in admitting or rejecting a creditors proof of debt.
• Valuations of shares for the purpose of Section 444GA proceedings.
• Considering the reasonableness of a process undertaken by an Insolvency Practitioner in realising assets, in Section 420A, or other proceedings.
